Where can I learn more about Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and DRIPS?

I’m planning on doing some investing and would prefer to do some passive investing if possible. I know about stocks and would prefer not to do them. How does an American actually invest in US dollars?

I live in America, and I know how to invest in other currencies. For example, I could just buy Euros if I think they are going to skyrocket, then sell at their peak.
But how could I invest in US Dollars if I think that they will soon surpass the Euro?
Thanks for your help.

How do I invest for the long-term?
Everyone asks this question. And the standard prudent and conservative answer for non-professionals like me is passive investing, with assets allocated between equities and bonds (and perhaps some commodities).
I like that advice: simple, logical, low-cost and headache-free.
And it works well if you plan on spending your life [...]
